iPhone 14 Rumors: Specs, Release Date, Price, and Leaks (Latest Update)

Holla! You’re holding up real good, aren’t you? Well, It’s still several months before the 2022 iPhone 14 models are ready to launch. However, because of these devices’ tremendous updates and effectiveness, rumors could not help but fly around about them.

One of the most distinguishing features of the 2022 iPhone is its size. The 2022 lineup may not include the 5.4-inch iPhone mini because it seems unpopular with customers. Without a doubt, the iPhone 14 lineup will definitely bring the biggest shakeup to Apple’s lineup in years. We will discuss the Specs, Release Date, Price, and Leaks of the 2022 iPhone lineup. Let’s get on the price to start with.

Rumored Price

Below are the iPhone 14 rumored prices

  • iPhone 14 will go for $799
  • iPhone 14 Max will go for $899
  • iPhone 14 Pro will go for $1,099
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max will go for $1,199

Rumored Features and Specs

Let’s dive right into the rumored specs of the iPhone lineups. But then, have it at the back of your mind that the leaks are not 100% certain to happen. However, they are more likely to be included in the phone lineups.

1. Design & Body Size

iphone 14

Although alleged, the iPhone 14 models and the standard iPhone 14 models will probably have no changes in design. They’re going to have the same look and feel as the iPhone 13 models, having the same standard notch and the same camera bump at the back with the diagonal camera layout.

From all possible indications, there won’t be any 5.4-inch iPhone from Apple in 2022. The reason is that Apple is putting a halt to the production of the “mini” line because of lackluster sales. Consequently, the iPhone 13 mini could be the last of the mini phones. Apple will be more focused on larger-sized iPhones with iPhone 14 at 6.1-inch, iPhone 14 Pro at 6.1-inch, iPhone 14 Max at 6.7-inch, and iPhone 14 Pro Max at 6.7-inch.

2. Titanium Alloy Design

According to an investors report from JP Morgan Chase, It seems like Apple’s upcoming iPhone 14 models would feature a high-end titanium alloy chassis design. Titanium has been used for the Apple Watches but never on its phones. This would mark the beginning of the material being used for an iPhone. Titanium would get a good number of votes because it is stronger than steel and aluminum, more scratch, and corrosion-resistant.

3. Wireless Charging and Cooling

The use of lightning ports has been rumored to end soon, as Apple aims to take advantage of Magsafe technology for portless (wireless) charging. However, it is still uncertain if this will be introduced with the 2022 iPhone models.

On the other hand, starting with these upcoming phones in2022, Apple’s high-end iPhone models would adopt a vapor chamber thermal system, which is aggressively under test. Because of the more substantial computational power and faster 5G connection speeds, this feature will be needed.

4. Camera Technology

A significant improvement to all 2022 iPhones would be the Ultra-Wide camera, with the iPhone 14 Pro models seeing the most significant upgrade to the wide-angle camera and telephoto lens. It is believed that the Apple 2022 Pro iPhone models will feature a 48-megapixel Wide camera and 8K video recording capabilities, which would be a significant improvement compared to the current 12-megapixel camera.

5. A16 Chip for iPhone 14 Pro

As an upgrade, the new iPhone will probably come with an updated A-series chip. But then, Ming-Chi Kuo has said that only the iPhone 14 Pro models will get a unique and faster A16 chip. These 14 Pro-designed chip models are reportedly built on TSMC’s “NP4” process, the third major enhancement of the 5-nanometer family.

6. Is 2TB Storage Even Possible?

In terms of storage, rumors suggest that the iPhone 14 lineups would have a one terabyte increase in storage compared to the iPhone 13 pro models with one terabyte storage. That means the iPhone 14 could increase its storage up to two terabytes. Even though this rumor may not be totally reliable, one must not overlook its possibilities.

7. Car Crash Detection and Satellite Connectivity

With the Qualcomm Snapdragon X65 onboard and satellite connectivity features, Apple aims to implement satellite-based emergency features that will enable users to send emergency messages even in areas where there is no cellular coverage. As a plus feature, users will be able to report significant emergencies like fire outbreaks and plane crashes using satellite networks.

More so, Apple is reportedly working on a car crash detection feature. This technology would use sensors like the accelerometer to detect when car accidents occur by measuring a spike in gravitational force. It would automatically send help to the emergency service department when a car crash is detected.

8. RF Chip and Snapdragon X65 Modem

Taiwan’s Economic Daily News has suggested that Apple may have ordered 5G radio frequency (RF) chips from TSMC alongside its own technology instead of Samsung chips. To get the most out of your battery life, the chips offer a smaller package with lower power consumption. They are allegedly manufactured on TSMC’s 6-nanometer process, which could lead to better battery life when using 5G technology.

The new iPhone 14 models will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon X65 modem, which boasts of the first 10 Gigabit 5G modem and antenna system for smartphones globally.

9. Addition Of WiFi 6E

In addition, there is a high level of expectancy for the iPhone 14 to feature WiFi 6E connectivity, as said by Apple’s analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. According to him, WiFi 6E will offer the high-speed wireless transmissions which are necessary for AR and VR experiences. The WiFi 6E uses the 6GHz band plus the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. This increases bandwidth and cuts down on interference as it offers a boost in performance and low latency provided by the WiFi 6 specification.

10. No Physical SIM Slot

With Apple gradually transitioning into an eSIM-only design, the newest models may launch without a physical SIM slot. Apple allegedly advises major U.S. carriers to prepare for the launch of eSIM-only smartphones by 2022. This suggests that some iPhone 14 models may be the first to come without a SIM slot.

iPhone 14 Launch Date

If you have been following Apple’s timeline launch, you would have known that most Apple phone launches annually occur at an event, with this year’s event likely to be held in September. If Apple follows previous launch timelines, then the iPhone 14 lineup launch date for 2022 would be during the first or second week of September.
